Aveva sentito due braccia nerborute stringergli le spalle.
Un moto di vergogna l’aveva invaso e il suo volto s’era imporporato. Qualcuno aveva veduto la sua amarezza e si era preoccupato.
Si era irrigidito. Non era suo desiderio mostrare la sua dilaniante disperazione.
– Amico mio… Non fingere una serenità che non provi. Siamo fratelli, non dimenticarlo. – aveva mormorato la gentile voce di Kyam.
A quel suono basso, ma dolce, la sua resistenza si era infranta e le lacrime, prive di controllo, avevano inondato le sue guance.
– Grazie... – aveva sussurrato. Quelle parole, d'apparenza semplice, avevano lenito le sue angosce.
Kyam si era mostrato capace di andare oltre la sua maschera esuberante e aveva accolto la sua amarezza.
Lo aveva stretto tra le sue braccia, senza domandargli nulla.
E, per lunghi, eterni istanti, erano rimasti immobili, stretti in un abbraccio, accarezzati dalla luce argentea delle costellazioni.

9/3/24 - I added a quick summary of the events leading up to Soul Calibur III if you are not familiar with the series. Meant to do this for a while, but there you go. This is Chapter 12.
"Burial of Nightmares" is a retelling of Soul Calibur 3, focusing primarily on Siegfried and a number of characters I consider the "main cast" involved with the series' major events. I'm taking from both the original series and a bit of Soul Calibur 6 to fill in the backstory up to the first scene (excluding the time travel and Aval Organization plot).
As a primer, the story starts just after Siegfried frees himself from Soul Edge (with the unintended help of Raphael). And I hope that the rest is explained through the plot. Feel free to comment, critique, but, most of all, enjoy!
