    Summary

Kenma's in his third year at Nekoma, Kuroo's in his first year at Tokai University, and the boys are attempting to navigate one year of a long-distance relationship... where 'long-distance' is measured by a forty-minute train ride and a mountain of obligations barring the way. But the more things change, the more they stay the same, and the more precious every moment.

While there are other ships that feature heavily in the background of this fic, I didn't want to take up space in their respective tags because they are rarely the focus. But there will be background Kageyama/Hinata moments and a Bokuto/Akaashi subplot.
Also I'm very serious about that fluff. This will literally aim to be chapters and chapters of fluff.
Relevant content warnings will be present at the beginning of every chapter as necessary.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Such a wonderful sorry you wrote! It’s easily one of my all time favorites, and one I want to study myself, for several reasons. Even if I never intend to write volleyball as in-depth-ly as you did, the way you incorporated your research into the story in general (for traditions, stores and brands, the intercollegiate volleyball tournaments, hand gestures, etc, aided by your first hand knowledge and experience) was seamless and incredible. I also want to study your character writing for the development of the characters themselves as well as how you crafted their lives. Side and OC characters still felt like fully formed human beings, and the family life you gave BokuAkaKuroKen felt fleshed out and real and matched well with the characters themselves. Kenma’s writing in particular is so increíble and commendable, and you so wonderfully wrote his journey through his last year. It felt natural, the way time passed, and didn’t at all feel like boring or too drawn out or like it has unnecessary parts at all. Everything included, how it started, and how it ended felt like they natural and how they were meant to be. I love how you write Kuroo, this is probably the best characterization of him I’d seen, with how much our fandom sometimes forgets how much do a dork and normal person he actually is because of how he looks. I love how tender and overflowing the love between the couples were, how right it all feels.

I figured I’d probably one day write some KuroKen work, but thanks to you, I feel like I’d be able to write BokuAka too. I wanted to already (especially bc I love BokuAkaKuroKen’s interactions together, having one half but not the other feels empty sometimes), but until now I didn’t have faith I could write them (particularly Akaashi) well. For some reason, the way you wrote him here gives me the faith that I can do it, and that I was making out things to be more difficult than they actually were.

This gives me faith again that I can write the stories I want to write well, too. They don’t have to be and don’t need to be as in depth as yours were or even as brilliant, but they can be an enjoyable read nonetheless and that’s what I want readers to take from it in the end.
