Summary
When you grow up with an obscure, undiagnosed mental illness, it can be really hard to understand what's going on. It can be hard to explain why you can have a good life and good friends but feel so awful. Who would understand the way your brain handles everyday life? Who would worry enough? Who would worry too much? How do you keep these thoughts from consuming you? When a cyclone rages in your mind every minute, worsening when you're stressed or anxious, you need a way to release the wind. When you have a dam up around your feelings, it's bound to fall.
Noel has dealt with all that his whole life. The only thing that's kept it in check is writing with Monique Gibeau. If his life isn't tragic, hers has to be.
