His cellmate is one of the most beautiful creatures he'd ever seen, even though the creature is unconscious and their captures are using Katsuki's blood to try and 'revive' the creature. Izuku was a merman working at Starbucks, a green-haired merman working at Starbucks. Not that anyone knew that, of course, but the irony was not lost on him. He was just here to spend some time living among humans to learn their ways, and, honestly, get a break after fighting a war below the surface.
Well, it was a break until Bakugou Katsuki walked through the door, making Izuku want to run away to the depths of the ocean, anything to avoid facing the boy he had left behind several years ago without a word. The Queen had made sure to drill this into his head: Without respect from others, royal blood was nothing but a target on his back. But how could he ever protect a kingdom if he could not even protect Deku?
Or, Prince Katsuki has until his birthday to find a suitable consort, but cannot seem to tear his eyes from Deku, his servant, who has suspicious connections to an enemy empire. Meanwhile, Prince Shouto of said empire, has arrived in pursuit of a peace treaty.

he gets a call for an intake for three new mermen. two of the three are injured. they all refuse to be separated. as the other two heal he falls in love with the green merman named izuku.
izuku and him pod were hurt and taken. he soon realized that they were only taken to get treated but his pod mate not his hatched one but the one he found couldn't be released. izuku and the permanently injured mers mate refused to leave him.

The first thing he registered was the water, but it didn’t feel right. Not at all familiar to what home was supposed to feel like. The water was much too still to be natural and the water felt overall stale and dirty.
Izuku shifted where he lay, eyes still tightly shut when his tail suddenly flared in pain. He tried to relax but everywhere just ached so horribly. Izuku breathed as deeply as he could without cringing, muscles relaxing slightly with every exhale.
Eventually, Izuku managed to peek an eye open, observing his new surroundings. Immediately, he was on edge again.
