Rest, however, does not come.On Mount Paozu, a few days after he turned one year old, little Gohan gasps through his terrified tears when his toddler self is propelled off the little stroller-bike, flies towards and then crashes through the solid trunk of a chestnut tree.
When his father catches him on the other side with a shout, there are only ashes left behind the both of them, down to the now burnt roots dug into the lightly scorched earth.
And Gohan, little body trembling in his arms, is unconscious.(Under his tunic, a little pendant lays across his heart, over a birthmark that wasn't there an hour before.)
