“So we all agree this place is giving us the creeps, right?”
Ralsei and Kris exchange a look. Bright neon signs adorn the cybernetic sky, casting “Come to the Color Cafe!” and “Don’t you want a taste of Heaven?” in burning light across the bright green grass. The idea of Heaven had been dancing off the lips of every Darkner they’d encountered here. It seemed almost cult-like, in a manner that was distinctly different than the way one might worship a royal, despite the talk of freedom and Heaven being interspersed with the announcements of a Queen’s tyrannical takeover of the digital Dark World.
Kris visibly recoils at Susie’s question, their hands tightening on their sword as they eye up their surroundings warily through thick bangs. Ralsei shrugs.
Or; an alternate timeline where Spamton never becomes a big shot, and the weight of Swatch's secrets leads them to a revelation that turns the state of the Cyber World on its head.
