Summary
In the midst of the final act of one adventure, another starts. A rat named Markem Brownnose, a common hordebeast raids a farmstead and enslaves two young otters, starting a series of events which culminates into a a four way war between four factions for the fate of Mossflower itself. To the northeast, Markem and his vast horde uses diplomacy and guile rather than violence and betrayal to fuse together a vast array of vermin hordes to launch his invasion to build a new future for his family and people. In the west, a terrible and endless foe arises from the sea to seek, as Milo Greeneyes sends forth his vast horde to reclaim the forest for himself, aided by foes of the past. To the south, an evil stirs, for what should have been a friend becomes a foe as it recklessly stumbles its way into the conflict. From Redwall, the son of a missing warrior takes heart, to find a lost relic to aid the doomed forest from further troubles.
