Cheng Xiaoshi pondered for a second before replying. "Yeah."
"I think I like it very much."

“Cheng Xiaoshi? Is everything alright?” asked once again Lu Guang.
At last, the young man lifted his head. His eyes came to rest on Lu Guang, and he felt as if something had stabbed him right in his heart. In the midst of these brown eyes, these eyes Lu Guang was lucky enough to bask in every day, he was the silent witness to so much sadness and suffering. He glimpsed the swift way Cheng Xiaoshi tried to hide his emotions by putting on a relaxed face. He then attempted to smile but failed miserably.
“Lu Guang? I didn’t hear you. What’s up?” said Cheng Xiaoshi in a false light-hearted tone, shifting towards Lu Guang.
On a rainy afternoon, Lu Guang finds Cheng Xiaoshi alone and sad on the couch of the sunroom. Lu Guang wants to know what happened, and wants to help his friend feel better in any way he can.

The first time, it is a fresh and crippling pain, something that tears through him in a way nothing ever has before, stealing his breath and his words and his heart, and by the time he gathers the shattered parts of him and puts them back together again, misaligned and threatening to fall apart all over again, the pain has dulled to an ache, the world duller and his heart sore.
