When he summoned the shots to appear in front of the shadowhunters, to say that he was surprised at how the drink looked compared to what he remembered that he created the last time, was was an understatement. Magnus didn’t know what had happened.
That was not how he’d last seen the drinks, but he did hope that his eyes were not deceiving him.

Magnus was under ridiculous amounts of stress, and his sweet husband desperately wanted to help relieve it. Alec came up with a surprise so ridiculous that Magnus would never expect it in a million years.
Set between the Malec wedding and their eventual move to Idris.
"Really? At this time of night?" Magnus chuckled, both hands cupping the shaker as he turned around to see Alec, which limply fell from his grasp and clattered open on the floor. His jaw was as low as it could possibly hang from the joint, his eyes blown open wide enough to completely see his irises, and a low croaking sound caught somewhere in his throat, followed by a barely audible squeak. Yep, that was exactly what Alec had been going for. He couldn't help but grin in satisfaction.

Clary’s eyes widen as she takes in the rather compromising position she’s found the Warlock in. Magnus is sitting on the lap of another man, both shirtless, and his companion covered with black runes that mark him very obviously as a Shadowhunter. Clary can’t help but notice a resemblance to Izzy - the same tall build and black hair. He’s even wearing a blue pendant necklace that bears a striking resemblance to Camille's one Izzy is wearing - Clary wonders if it’s something Magnus does for all his lovers.

His breath caught. Two vibrant and beautiful golden eyes stared back at him intently. The man was beautiful. He seemed to shimmer under the club’s lights, he leaned confidently against the railing, ringed hands clasping the metal. He reminded Alec of a King surveying his court. Even from this distance, the man radiated confidence and self-assurance but without the usual arrogance that seemed to accompany these traits.
Then the man winked.
And Alec stumbled. Alexander Lightwood, resident hardass of the New York Institute, honest to god stumbled because a pretty guy had winked at him.
