In which, after their break up and the events of Edom, Alec and Magnus never get back together. Alec refuses Magnus' offer to get back together, and stays single instead.
It takes place post-canon, after the events of the sixth book, City of Heavenly fire. Everyone is living their happily-ever-after.
Everyone except Alec. Isabelle and Jace think it's because Alec still misses Magnus. Yes, Alec still thinks about Magnus sometimes but he is hiding something else - or someone else.
Graeme Winterheart is a Shadowhunter and Alec's friend/crush/rival/bully from his childhood. Someone for whom Alec had unresolved feelings for a long time. A year after the events of Edom and their battle with Sebastian, Graeme makes an appearance in Alec's life again. He tries to start a solo career, but if he's honest, he first needs to find the black haired archer who introduced him to music and dragged him to the MMA- Club when he was nothing more but a prime example of an aggressive teen in foster care.

Alec grows up thinking he will never be good enough for Jace; that being his parabatai is all he will ever be. As the years go by Alec goes from being considered Jace’s weakness, not good enough to be his parabatai, to Alec defending Jace when everyone thinks he is Valentine’s son. Then, when it becomes clear Jace is a Herondale, Alec is back to fighting discrimination and scorn alone.
When Magnus breaks up with him over the Soul Sword and Jace returns from Lake Lyn things between them start to change as Jace finally sees Alec’s struggle and the purity of his love and devotion for him.
Goes AU at the end of season 2 as in Magnus and Alec never get back together after Magnus leaves him over the Soul Sword episode and Clary and Jace doesn’t get together after Lake Lyn.
Some angst, hurt/comfort and a whole lot of fluff and romance. With a side serving of sex. Have fun! -
