Summary
It's staring back at her. Just like her own, the eye is unable to look at one thing for long. Its pupil flits from one perspective to the next, rolling around from interest to interest. It's almost hypnotizing. The colors are vibrant but not eye-abusing like everything else within the circus. It changes in a sort of pulsing pattern, both subtle but sudden. But as soon as Pomni caught sight of it, it seemed to do the same. The staring contest lasts for what feels like millennia until the pain floods back in.
Pomni clamps her other hand over her mouth to keep herself from screaming. The last thing she needs is a witness to the horror that has formed on her wrist. The all-seeing eye deems the jester as its interest while Pomni watches the darkened abstractions on her wrist in terror. The black distortions have encompassed her wrist in a twisting bracelet. The affected area has become numb, and with it comes a strange pain that's difficult to describe. A sort of strange electricity that comes and goes at random, leaving her switching from numbing relief to an electrocuting pain.
The only constant within this world is change, and now it's her turn to face the consequences of wanting to stay in the past. -
