“Mycroft!” Greg looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “You don't have to fight alone, Mycroft.”
“Did manage that quite well the last twenty-seven years, Gregory”, he sounded defensive, his chin slightly lifted. Now it was Greg's time to huff.

After an arson at Mycroft’s home, he unexpectedly finds refuge in Greg’s flat. They discover that sometimes, letting someone in can be the hardest — and most necessary — act of all.

Summary
This fanfiction takes place after BBC season 4 of Sherlock Holmes. Mycroft deserves better in my eyes and I want his and Sherlocks relationship to become better. The fanfiction genereally resolves around the idea that Mycroft dosen´t handle the traumatic experience at Sherrinford very well and how Sherlock and John intervenes. Later in the fanfiction a character I have created myself as Lestrade´s niece will enter the picture and become Mycroft´s love interest. For this purpose both Sherlock and Mycroft are written a bit softer than their true characters.

The last thing John Watson had been expecting, well, there were a lot of things not to expect, but it certainly wasn’t Mrs. Hudson pulling up in a bright red sports car speeding as if the devil was chasing her tail down his therapist’s street.
It certainly wasn’t her interrupting his therapy session that wasn’t even beneficial. It wasn’t the helicopter and police car tracking her down, and then the both of them going away at the blink of an eye because Mycroft’s eyes and ears know no bounds.
But the most unbelievable thing is that Mrs. bloody Hudson, had played John and lied right to his face, tying him into a bond he couldn't get out of even if he tried. He made a promise he wasn’t sure he’d ever go through with.
And the lie was supposedly justifiable. The lie was Sherlock Holmes.

In this post-“Sherlock” story, Sherlock, as it turns out, is not the only one with demons underneath his road; John has his own share of demons waiting for him, too. And now, not only is John compelled to remember old traumas from his childhood, but the demons under his road have arisen to threaten his life and the lives of his loved ones. Can Sherlock and John’s other friends deliver him and his family from them? This story is part casefic and part physical/emotional hurt/comfort. (Part of the back history of this story comes from a previous 20-chapter story of mine, which I posted back in early 2021, “Please, God, Let Me Live.”)

Things are not the same for either of them. Unresolved issues aside, they both now have something or rather someone else in common. Will Molly's secret destroy them or would it act as the catalyst that Molly and Sherlock so hopelessly need? The more desperately Molly tries to get out of the situation, the more she gets sucked back into it.
As Mycroft once said to Sherlock, "What do we say about coincidence?"
