Happy to support her sister from the sidelines, January was there through the attack on Eden Prime, Saren’s treachery, Jane’s resurrection, and the final fight with the reapers. That is, until her sister didn’t need anyone anymore. Her final death saw to that.

She knew when Sovereign would make his move, and the thought of having to fight the Reapers again terrified her. At the same time, she dared hope: Maybe, she could make a difference this time. Maybe, if she could be stronger, then this time she could save them.

Almost everything has changed. The war is over. Organics and synthetics are inextricably intertwined. Shepard is gone. But Joker is still a pilot, and the Normandy still has missions to accomplish. A lot of people were displaced by the Reapers, and they need food and shelter and supplies and protection.
Something else that hasn’t changed is that Joker still has his co-pilot. He can see her out of the corner of his eye as he focuses on piloting the ship—a comforting glimmer of chrome.
“Jeff, do you ever wish to get married?” Her calm voice breaks the silence.
