Summary
As the Sol Starbase receives its new crew contingent under the watchful eye of the Ur-Quan, Commander Hayes sees the stars for the first time in over twelve years. Having signed up for five years of service to the Hierarchy at the only place outside Earth that its people were allowed to go to, he did not anticipate a particularly eventful term aboard the space station.
The first day would already prove him wrong.
