Summary
The fragile trust between Arthur and Merilyn is no longer a secret hope—it is real, tangible, and dangerously alive. For the first time, Arthur sees magic not as a weapon, but as part of the woman he loves. Their bond deepens, even as the shadow of destiny presses closer. But love does not erase the weight of prophecy, nor the enemies waiting to tear them apart.
Yet the greatest revelation lies not in vengeance, but in blood. Merilyn’s long-buried secret, her son emerges into the light. His existence changes everything: for Merilyn, for Arthur, and for the destiny of Camelot itself. Whispers of the boy ripple through the Old Religion, binding his fate to the same prophecy that foretells Arthur’s rise and Merilyn’s sacrifice. Allies will question her loyalty. Enemies will seek to use him. And Arthur must decide if love can survive the truth that destiny has hidden from them both.

Summary
Merlin can’t remember the last time he’s locked his bedroom door, if ever. But he chooses not to think about it. He merely sulks his way back to his bed, taking a moment to contemplate taking off his trousers and tunic from the night before. He decides not to think about that either.
Instead, he decides not to think at all. He just falls back into his bed, covers up his body more so in shame than for warmth, and closes his eyes.
Basically Merlin is sexually assaulted and this story follows how he and everyone else deals with it.
Spoiler alert: THEY DON'T HANDLE IT WELL.

Summary
Merlin has magic,” Uther’s words hit Merlin like a ton of bricks, the spirit disappearing as if it was never there.
Merlin closes his eyes, letting out the breath he’s been holding. He feels his back hit the door behind him, holding himself up against it. He doesn’t look at Arthur, just waits.
One breath, two breath, three breath. Nothing.
Merlin opens his eyes, looking up, half expecting Arthur to have disappeared to alert the guards. Arthur is staring at him, he is stock skill, breath coming out ragged and uneven. He looks crushed and not just from expelling his father’s spirit but that must also have contributed to it.
“Arthur,” Merlin tries, swallowing when his voice shakes with the anticipation of Arthur’s reaction.
“Is it true?” Arthur asks, his voice quiet but stern, he still holds the horn tightly in his grip by his side, his knuckles white with the force.
“Arthur I-“
“Yes or no, Merlin,” Arthur interrupts, voice suddenly louder in the empty corridor, he looks Merlin in the eye while he nods wordlessly before looking away, “you-you do. You would betray me? You?”

In which Arthur find out from spirit Uther about Merlin's magic. -

Summary
"Let him think I hate him. If that’ll stop him from risking his neck for me over and over again, then it’s a sacrifice I don’t have to think twice about."
—
Arthur finds out Merlin has magic. He also finds out how often Merlin risked his life for him and so, he does the only thing he can think of to protect him: banishment.
Hurt and angry, Merlin leaves and swears to not look back.
But, when two years pass and Morgana shows up at Merlin’s door, urging him to fill Gaius’ position as Court Physician, Merlin agrees. He really doesn’t know why, but Arthur is sure Merlin would do just about anything to get on his nerves.
Unprepared for the shock of seeing Merlin back in the castle, Arthur is forced to speed along his plans to lift the ban on magic. But between stubborn councilors, a mysterious plague, a still angry Merlin, and Morgana being Morgana, Arthur is fairly certain he’ll lose his mind before the first year of his reign even ends.

Summary
Book 1 of the series.
Bad at summaries, but this is basically a canon rewrite and this particular book is only season 1.
Arthur wants to be the protective, scary boyfriend that everyone fears, but that is actually Merlin. It is a slow burn, but that is only one-sided. Arthur is very quick to be intrigued, but Merlin wants nothing to do with him, which does change. The slow burn for an established relationship is real, but the protectiveness starts very early. Merlin is Arthur's anchor of self-restraint, much like how I imagine Ygraine was for Uther.
Spoiler: Arthur falls first, Merlin falls harder.Series

Arthur Pendragon and Merlin were literally from two different worlds. One is a prince from a great kingdom and the other a common farm boy from the next kingdom over. These two should have never met.
But that was before they realized their parents were once friends and arranged the two of them to marry when they reached adulthood. That was before Uther turned on magic and Hunith went on the run with her infant son.
Now, twenty years have passed and the Prince, Arthur Pendragon is far out of his depth. After four months of marriage and learning what he has about Merlin, he knows that things need to change, but doesn’t know what can be done.
And with every attempt at trying going wrong, with mysterious boys showing up wanting to be a knight, strange physician’s trying to coerce his consort away, even stranger ladies who’ve seen to weaken Arthur’s brain, and the arrival of an odd Druid boy they need to risk it all just to get to safety…will Arthur ever get things to go right?

Summary
When Merlin's magic is exposed shortly before season 2 starts, the path of destiny starts changing forever. Now on the run with Arthur, Morgana, and Gwen. Merlin hopes to convince Arthur that magic is totally good instead of him and Morgana just being an exception. Morgana, meanwhile, hopes to convince him to usurp his father. As allies are gathered and Arthur realizes the injustice in his kingdom, it looks more and more like he will have to act in a drastic way. A way he dreads.
Meanwhile, Arthur and Merlin are growing closer and closer and might just have feelings for each other. Something they probably should be better about realizing, considering the example of Gwen and Morgana right next to them.
In a land of myth and a time of magic, the destiny of a great kingdom now rests on the shoulders of four, their names: Merlin, Arthur, Guinevere, and Morgana

Extract from ‘Knights of the Temples: The Prince Arthur Story’ by T. H. Blanc, published 2021:
'There we have it. Violence, intrigue, danger, romance, and self-sacrifice. In a couple of short months, Captain Arthur Pendragon, eldest son of The Most Honourable The Marquess of Camelot, Lord Uther Pendragon, almost singlehandedly dismantled one of the most covert and sinister arms of the Axis Powers’ military forces, ensuring that its leader and the secret weapons she had designed would never again see the light of day. '

Summary
Destiny plays a cruel game with us. It lets us hope, lets us believe we are in control, just for things to end the way we knew they would anyways. But sometimes, to it’s very favorites, destiny will be kind. One of those favorites is Merlin. And what if this time it will actually end differently? What if this time he would find a way to show Morgana that violence was not the only option? What if this time, he could help Mordred not loose his loyalty. What if this time he could be honest with this man earlier on? Share his secret with him and show what magic can also be. Show him the beauty and peace it can bring. And what if this time he could build the courage to tell Arthur how he truly felt, before it will be too late again? If he could do all those things, could the ending truly be changed? Could he watch Arthur be the king he was destined to be instead of watching the love of his life die in his arms without him ever truly knowing what he meant for the young warlock? Merlin wasn’t sure. Anything he had ever done to try and change the cause of events had led to the exact situations he tried to avoid. But if destiny gives you a chance like this, you use it. Even if it may just mean reliving your losses once again…

Summary
Merlin is the worst manservant Arthur has ever had. He’s always late, constantly forgets his breakfast, and can’t clean a room to save his life.
He’s the bravest person Arthur has ever known.
When Merlin saves his life (again) and Uther forbids Arthur from returning the favour, everything Arthur has been taught starts to feel wrong. Cruel, even.
One day, he wants to be a better king. A fairer one. To do that, he’ll have to start questioning his father’s beliefs—about loyalty, about magic, and about what (and who) truly matters.
If that means keeping a closer eye on Merlin without being noticed, so be it.
My personal version of the story in which Arthur knows something doesn’t add up and begins to piece it all together when he hears Merlin cast a spell and kill the griffin. Arthur's not stupid, no one will convince me otherwise -

“No!” His eyes flared gold...

Merlin and Arthur meet as boys and grow up together as mates secretly. Eventually Arthur realises that feeling the way he does about Merlin isn’t how a friend should feel and Merlin is obviously clueless. They’re both clumsy idiots and apparently, stupid boys.
