His hands paused their course, retreating to trace over the two, minuscule bumps on his head that he’d dismissed as particularly-stubborn tangles.
The origin of horns, twin to the ones on his own head.
Oh.
Suddenly, Tommy realized why his superiors claimed this mission was so important.
He felt his heart twist as he took in the bruises on his arms, the scar left on his cheek, and the haunted look within his gaze with a newfound vision. Instinctively, his hand tightened its grip on his curls, claws detracting from within his skin.
A marked Reaper was a very, very rare thing. They were only marked by Death every few centuries, and only showed their true purpose when the Gods deemed the time was right. When his very own father deemed the time was right.

or, Grim Reaper Tommy is sent on a mission to collect Wilbur's soul, but when he arrives, discovers that he's the equivalent of a baby grim reaper. cue the crimebois

Summary
Wilbur didn't want to leave his brother but he certainly didn't want to see him again so soon, not like this. After Technoblade guided Wilbur into the afterlife it was Wilbur's turn to do so for Tommy. But not yet.

“Aw, is Techno sad his Tommy cuddles got cut short?” Wilbur teases, rolling his eyes, “Hm, good thing we can share.”
“Alright, how about you two wind down and put on some tv. It's been a long morning for all of us,” Techno grumbles, going off into the kitchen.
Wilbur watches him go, the two of them not moving towards the couch. Tommy, for one, is still recovering from whatever weird mind tricks Wilbur just played on him, practically trembling in his goddamn arms like a scared dog.
Wilbur, like the smug bastard he is, indulges Tommy, holding him close, gently stroking his hair, letting him hide his face away in his chest.
Or Tommy dies and comes back as a Reaper to serve Phil. Wilbur and Techno are not very happy about that.

Before he could stop himself, Wilbur spoke up, “What do you think about reincarnation?”
Tommy looked at him, “What?”
“Reincarnation, you know, you die, you get reborn as someone else. Rinse and repeat.” Wilbur motioned with his hands, watching as Tommy tilted his head in thought.
“I don’t know, I don’t really think about stuff like that.”
“I think about it all the time,” Wilbur said, I live it every day.
OR, Wilbur is a Grim-Reaper being punished for the sins he committed in a past life. Wilbur doesn't remember said sins, so how come when he runs into a boy at a park, the sight of him makes him break into tears?

Tommy wasn’t talking. He refused to utter a single word. Wilbur doesn’t deserve even a bread crumb of Tommy’s attention. That’s why he’s currently hiding in the attic, trying to ignore the presence he shares a home with.
