ACT I - The Night of Black Knives does not go as planned. Godwyn survives, though wounded near to death. A conspiracy between Ranni and Marika begins to unravel. The Confessors' Hold and the Dragon Cult vie for control. Miquella attempts to stabilize Leyndell while Rykard besieges the city.
ACT II - Ranni races back to Leyndell while Radahn turns aside to break the siege of Raya Lucaria. As the siege of Leyndell drags on and a sinister cult takes hold amidst the forces of Mt. Gelmir, Rykard slips closer to despair. Now the self-declared king of Leyndell, Miquella struggles to wrest public support away from Marika and her false prince. Beset by memories not his own, Godwyn seeks out the true nature of the entity with which he has become entangled.

Summary
It is a time of peace in the Lands Between. After a series of bloody wars, the Golden Order and the House of Caria have come to a tentative accord, sealed by the marriage of General Radagon of Leyndell to the Queen of the Full Moon. But Queen Marika knows all too well the dangers of dropping one's guard.
Newly retired from the standing army, his body and mind sporting many scars that will never heal, Sir Gideon Ofnir wants simply to be left to his own devices. Peace with Caria means that the libraries of Raya Lucaria have opened their gates once more, and Gideon intends to spend the rest of his days probing the mysteries of magic. The time for fighting, for dying, for loving has passed.
Until the summons from the Queen Eternal arrives. Even in peacetime, Marika wishes to remain vigilant. To root out the last vestiges of corruption within her borders, to be poised to strike first should something threaten her rule. To that end, Gideon has been given the title of spymaster and instructed to spread his eyes and ears throughout the Lands.

Things like SI stories were always some kind of guilty pleasure of mine. I'd never take their place though. I was content with my life.
And then I woke up as an abomination with way too many limbs. Hope he didn't graft those to compensate for something.
