Summary
"What brings you here ?” Smoke asks the man.
“Scouting” comes the answer, said by the one who still hasn’t turned. Vague and cryptic ; Smoke doesn’t know if they’re stalling or too discreet for their own good.
“Sorry to disappoint, folks” his twin says, drawing on the words like a slow trickle of water, “but the barn’s already been sold. Nothing to see here anymore”.
The hunters manage to snatch Remmick away during their chase. The logical next step follows.

Summary
Two chairs sit tucked beneath the kitchen table, which currently drowns in student papers. One chair is yours; a worn cushion tied to the seat. The other is bare, kept just in case. With the dishes done, you sit at the table with a sigh, shuffle the piles by year group, and dip your pen into the inkwell. You lose yourself in the rhythm of it –
Tick, cross, note, tick
- until the candle gutters low and your neck begins to ache.
Outside, deep in the shadowed bush beyond your clearing, a pair of red eyes flicker in the dark. Watching. Waiting.
But you do not see them.
Not yet.

Summary
Sammie finds his life falling apart after becoming estranged from his family. He doesn't think things could get any worse until he finds a disturbing secret regarding his neighbor.
Sammie knew there was something off with his neighbor. The guy was slightly older than him, but not by much. He’d seen him a couple of times, and when he had moved in, he’d been the first person to greet him.
His name was Remmick, and every time he spoke, Sammie caught onto a slight Irish accent. His mannerisms were strange and childish, but he never questioned him.
The day he moved in, Remmick had surprised him with a homemade pumpkin pie, but there was something suspicious about the way he had smiled and tilted his head when they locked eyes.

(Happy ending guaranteed because I've tortured these guys enough and they deserve a break.)

Summary
When Mitena cracks open her grandmother’s drawer, she doesn’t expect to be flung into the blistering, familiar heat of Mississippi, more than 80 years in the past. But something old and aching has called her. A grief not entirely her own. A memory buried deep in the land.
With nothing but the clothes on her back and the knowledge of her people and time, Mitena must navigate a world that is both hers and not. A world where secrets are whispered in hush tones, where the past is not past, and where something sacred demands to be witnessed. And where a dangerously obsessed, homicidal vampire forces her to question everything she thought she knew about love, survival, and her own capacity for darkness.
To return home, she’ll have to confront what was lost.
To stay, she may have to become someone else entirely.

Summary
“Thank you so much for coming to get her, Stack,” Annie says, smiling up at him while making sure Elani’s dance bag is securely on her tiny shoulders. “Her dance teacher said they needed to be there a little earlier today to try on competition outfits. Isn’t that right, baby girl?”
“Mister O’Brien says that we’re all going to be beautiful princesses and wear pink and purple tutus,” Elani exclaims, hopping up and down, the beads in her hair clinking together cutely. “ I hope I can get a pink one!”
Stack sneers his lip at the name of her dance teacher, trying not to show his distaste but Annie catches it anyway and chuckles quietly.
“Be nice, Elias,” she scolds him without any real heat to her words.”
OR
Remmick is the ballet and gymnastics teacher across the hallway from Stack’s breakdancing studio.
Shenanigans ensue.

Summary
1931. The heat never breaks, the dead don’t stay buried, and the song your Pa begged you never to play has finally drawn him to your window.
You were only trying to survive the nights. But he was waiting in the dark—something older than sin, hungrier than death, and hellbent on making you his.
Now there’s no sanctuary left. Not in the church. Not in your own skin. You can fight. You can run. But the bond he’s buried in your blood pulls tighter with every breath.
You didn’t mean to call him.
But you did.
And he’s not leaving until you say the words.
