Summary

Torgaddon fills the silence with jokes and challenges, daring her to forget. Aximand watches her movements with clinical precision, adjusting the Den’s layout so she can see the door without turning her back.
Abaddon’s approach is the hardest—his protection like iron, his commands meant to anchor her, not to break her. When she trembles, he doesn’t let her hide it. “You will not be weak,” he tells her. But his touch is careful. And when she doesn’t flinch, he nods like it’s a victory.
Healing is not soft. It’s not a gentle unfurling of pain. It’s the grind of old wounds reopening, scar tissue torn and stitched again. But some nights, when they hold her—when she’s not drowning in her own mind—she almost feels safe. Almost.
