Summary
Every power has a price. Something that would make you laugh at the irony if it wasn't so damn infuriating. A man with the strength of ten at the height of half of one. A woman with asthma who needs to hold her breath to stay invisible. A walking fireball who can lose his eyebrows to a rogue flame.
So of course when Robert realized he wasn't powerless, he could only laugh at the irony.
An immortal man who wishes he was dead really was the icing on the cake.

Summary
Everyone knows that the Mecha Man legacy has been protecting LA for 50 years. First Prime, then Astral, and at last Blue. Shroud, having killed Mecha Man Astral 15 years ago, nearly killed Mecha Man Blue after his release. How the story ends with Mecha Man Blue, Robert Robertson the Third, avenging his father and saving the day with the Z-team.
And in this one, that fated day changed everything. The stories were told wrong, tainted in blood and lies. Shroud never killed Mecha Man Astral, a lie formed by a man he once called his friend. No, that dreaded night ended with all of the Brave Brigade dead save for TrackStar and Shroud. Shroud was arrested for crimes that were never his to begin with, and years later, a villain would rise from the ashes, one known as Optimus. One with a daunting fascination with Mecha Man that would eventually lead to Mecha Man Blue falling 15 years later.
Four months after the explosion, Robert joined SDN as a dispatcher, expecting a semi-normal life until his suit was finished. What he didn’t know at the time was that the new dispatcher, who was released on parole, would be a face that he could never get out of his nightmares.

Robertson's didn't have powers. Even the insinuation they needed them always drove his father into a bad mood. No, the Robertson's power was meant to be sheer determination, strength, intelligence. What a shame then that Robert has been born with the most useless and embarrassing one.

Summary
It was common knowledge that you received your mark when you turned twelve. I mean, honestly, anyone who didn't know that had to have been a lonely bastard with nothing in life to look forward to. The mark was important; it told you exactly who your soulmate was by inscribing the first words they'd ever speak to you on your skin.
Chad was eager to meet his soulmate, even if the words that had been scrawled into his forearm always seemed a bit... well. Not soulmate-y. Regardless, he was eager to see what kind of person his soulmate would be -- until his family so kindly pointed out: those were words meant for a villain.
Robert grew up in shame of his mark; the excitement to meet who he was always destined to meet was never really there for him, really, the cruel words inscribed on his stomach were always just a harsh reminder of his father's "tough it out" attitude toward him.

Summary
most of this fic will not be following the main story line or flow, since the main aim of the fic is to have Robert Robertson III go through as much hurt as possible before he gets his comfort in the form of a pining pitiful harvard graduate. this man will be put through the wringer so many times he will be even thinner than he already is. Fic will be updated more the further I progress in the game, bcs I wanna be as accurate as possible
