Summary
The desperation in his eyes as he begs her not to forget him is not lost on her, seared into what remains of her heart, ice thawed into a bare, bloody mess of emotion and sorrow. Empathy had always been a detriment to her, and that much is clear in the way her hands grasp his own, whispering faint reassurances that she will find him in all of her lives to come.
They both know that the words she utters are nothing more than lies laced with honey, statements wrapped in a bow to hide something the two of them could never accept to be truth: the circumstances would never allow for something so honest and bare as the dance they shared since that day she found him in the village. “You call this a fresh start?” She questions with disbelief, stubborn as ever. “Murdering people who have loved you and put their trust in you, because that’s what your psychotic boyfriend wants?”
“Ouch,” Scar laughs at his side, a dangerous glint in his eyes as he nudges Rover. “I think you are being a bit unfair to both of us. After all, Rover is the one who came to me and proposed the plan we have been following for years now.”

YangYang was taking him to "Dorschman's Dump", apparently one of the scariest places to be within a 20 minute drive of the high school. Rover wasn't convinced, really, even by the old bloodstains on the scrap heaps and old gutted cars and worn away dirt in the middle clearing. He had spaced out of what YangYang was saying about Scar and his cult following club, wandering farther into the expansive scrapyard, between the towers. When he turned around, he realized that he'd wandered off. And then...

“Oh?” A voice from the opening doors of the training room exclaims. Scar already has a grin on his face as he saunters closer to where Rover stands in the empty training room. “You came here alone?” He barks out a laugh. Scar shakes his head, wrapping his arm around the shoulders of Rover. “You didn’t come ask little old me for help?”
Rover shakes Scar off of him, scowling as he backs up away from the man. “I wasn’t aware I needed to ask anyone for help training. You guys just don’t have anything to train with.”
“Why fight something that’s not moving when fighting something that does move is so much better?” Scar moves far enough away from Rover that one could say that they were on completely opposite sides of the room. He raises his fists, adjusts his legs, and smirks. “Come on, fight me, Rover.”
“You want a fight?” Rover asks. Already knowing the answer, he raises his sword. “Then come at me.”
