Summary
Oh better far to live and die under the great black flag they lie. Naked, liberated, and willing to embrace their most primal urges. Frederic has turned twenty-one aboard the most hedonistic and sexually-charged pirate ship on the high seas; and despite engaging in raucous orgies on a daily basis, he longs to see what else is out there. Leaving his crew and heart-broken captain, Frederic seeks out to explore the worlds of sex and love beyond the ship he's called his home.

Summary
When he is almost thirty, a woman talks him into taking her 8-year-old ward apprentice.
Thirteen long, full years later, his boy is leaving - and he won't stop him, of course not, but.
He does so wish he didn't want to leave. Surely, surely he will not turn on them? -

Summary
I've always liked this play, but I've never liked the way Frederic rejoins the pirates with so little fuss. I understand it was meant as a joke, but it could have been better told. Ruth's rather sudden revelation of the pirates' true natures grates a little, too. It was apparently a standard plot device of the time. In most respects I tried to stay as close to the original as I could.

Summary
The pirates try their hand at burglary. They really shouldn't have.
"It had not, as people would normally tell him, all happened quickly.
It had happened slowly.
So slowly that, he keeps telling himself, he could have done something."
