Summary
Things were different. As far as Jon could reason, this was one of many worlds, that had been in contact with their own, with a thin membrane that allowed things to slip through on occasion. The Web apparently hadn't even known that in this universe, the fears had split off and colonized, likely under the influence of the corruption for a long while.
