There's a lot Kazuki is guilty about: that B-minus he made on his literature grade, the shoes he lost because he thought it would be fine sitting outside, bullying Shoko by laughing along, and bullying Shoya because he thought it was right.
Perhaps the greatest test of courage wasn’t jumping from those bridges to see who would emerge unscathed, it was recognizing his cruelty and finding ways to make his past become less of a shadow and more like a forgiven memory.

Summary
Shouko Nishiyima believes perfection is possible, or at least possible to fake it well enough to keep herself alive. As long as she has an inferior image of herself in her imagination, that's more than enough for her to keep living, just so she can try and grasp this alternate version of her. But her usual repetitive routine is one day interrupted by Shoya Ishida who shes had an annoying history with, moves into her class. Shoya's outgoing and unpredictable nature makes her start to question how she's been living her life so far and if chasing after a non-existent version of her is really worth it.
