Taako lifted an eyebrow. “Duh,” he deadpanned, “my cooking is fucking fantastic.”
“Yes, I…I’m sure it is.”
“But you wouldn’t know,” Taako continued, sounding terse enough for Kravitz to cringe, “because you’ve never…”
Taako trailed off, expression slowly shifting as he realized what it was that Kravitz was unsuccessfully trying to explain.
“Hang on. Wait a minute. Hold all your damn horses and the stone, babe. It’s not just my food, is it? I’ve never seen you eat anything, have I?”

Summary
In this AU - it's a bit more complicated as it is heavily inspired by "Too Sweet" by the Hoziers.
In this universe Kravitz is still the GrimReaper but he also achieved his dream of being the Conductor for the NeverWinter Orchestra. However living in the material plane while also occasionally returning to the Astral Plane - Kravitz has a hard time maintaining a regular human facade. When the Raven Queen recommends a famous cooking show to keep up appearances Kravitz finds himself in a wild goose-chase for one of the most powerful pair of liches in the world.
It's unfortunate Taako is so attractively distracting that it prevents him from doing his job.One night out on the town with his good friend Magnus, Taako experiences the power of a bard's song in the Neverwinter Orchestra. Or rather; the power of the Conductor orchestrating the song. While he was there for Magnus and to cheer on his pal Johann, Taako couldn't help but find himself enamored with Kravitz's career.
It's unfortunate when he finally meets the guy he's already in love with someone else. -

Magnus wants to learn how to cook, so who better to go to than the chef himself, his good friend Taako! He loves hanging out with him, and since they stopped going on adventures, Magnus has been dying to find an excuse to hang out with his elf friend. Taako welcomes the other with open arms into his kitchen though he knows how horrible Magnus is at cooking, so he makes sure to keep him at an arm's distance from the more dangerous parts of it. He has the other do little tasks. Though as they work, Taako can't help but feel... empty and frustrated, with himself and the circumstances he finds himself in.

Sazed is forced to go watch a cooking show his sister has been interested in called “Sizzle it up with Taako.” Sazed finds himself falling in love with the cook and his cooking.
After the show, he tries to find Taako to compliment him on the show when he discovers a horrifying truth. Taako has been selling out his own body to get extra money to be able to support himself and the show.

He doesn’t get the chance to finish because Lup is already sprinting past him. They hear the sound of shattering glass. “It has a latch...” Barry mumbles, his head in his hands. They would have to go to the black markets to find another tube, now.
The footsteps on the stairs sound much more solid coming up than they had been running down. The door is kicked open and there’s Lup in her corporeal form.

Taako didn't know much. He didn't know where he got the Sizzle It Up With Taako food cart, or where he was or how he got there. He didn't know why he didn't know those things, but he didn't care about that.
What he did know was that he was a great chef, a star, a real fucking diamond in the rough. His past sucked but this was a new lease on life and a new him.
He was going to make something of himself and damn it, everyone was going to love him.
