Summary
When nine heroes were brought together on an adventure, they'd thought that that was all that they were; nine heroes, nine brothers, nine Links, all called to save the world together, as a team.
When evidence starts to indicate that one of them is more than that though, each hero takes it upon himself to defend his new knowledge and the brother that it concerns, unbeknownst to the rest. After all, princes aren't taken well to in Hyrule, and trust each other though they might with their own lives, they're not yet ready to trust each other with someone else's, especially when that person is Hylia's own blood. -

Summary
Cia’s War of Ages has far-reaching consequences for residents of Skyloft as they face invasion from a distant time. But when the battle comes, where are Link and Zelda of Skyloft? (Pre-LU, but strongly hinted, especially Warriors. The Captain might force his way into making an appearance.)
(Some chapters in the middle are not yet published because I was so excited to get to the fun parts I just... skipped a bunch, lol. Pick up with Sparring, or The Dorm if you just want the Whump)

Summary
Sky's breath hitches. They are similar. Sky can see it every time he looks at Wild for a moment too long, every time the hero tells of his own tale. Their stories are similar, but they are terribly, terribly different in all the ways that matter.
Wild turns, slowly.
"You…never defeated Demise, did you?"
---
(or: Hylia's Heroes have been gathered from across time for one, final quest. Their enemy is closer than any of them recognize.)
(or: Or: Of all the heroes Demise could have ordered him to kill, it just had to be the one with resurrection powers. Honestly, he thinks Hylia might just be playing with him at this point.)

Summary
Sky makes the mistake of going to the tavern with Warriors, and ends up spilling his darkest secrets.
“Truth is… never met Ganondork or whatever his name is. But I kinda got an idea of what ‘es like.” Sky said with a hiccup. Wars looked down at him with a raised eyebrow, chuckling. “Oh really?”
“I fought the thing that came before him.”
His eyes widened. “What?”
“Yeah… real petty piece of shit.”

Summary
“This? This is medicine.” Time said matter-of-factly, as though he was explaining the obvious to someone as incompetent as Sky. Sky’s face twisted into confusion as he was slightly hurt by the words. “Believe it or not, you’re sick.” Time snipped, Sky shrunk back from the tone in his voice.
OR
Sky is unable to recognize his body's needs, Time is a mess of emotions and self-loathing thoughts. Neither of them have a good time.

“SKY!”
He hears someone, Four maybe, shout his name from across the clearing. He lands on his right arm, hard, screaming internally as something snaps. He moves to lift his head, assure Four that he’s okay, but he can’t move. It’s just like before.
He can’t move.

Summary
“What is going on?” Sky croaked desperately, feeling suddenly small and insignificant and wanting to sink into the floor. Why are you looking at me like that?
More silent glances passed between his brothers, laden with unspoken words, and then Time spoke up, his gaze stony. “I think you should be the one telling us that, boy.”
Warriors took a step closer, brows pinching together as he held the Master Sword against his chest.
“Beginning with your name."

Or, Sky discovers strange runes written deep within a cave, accidentally activates them, and instantly makes everyone, past and present, forget who he is -

Summary
Link is a failure.
It’s something he’s always known, he thinks, deep down within himself. A heavy feeling it is: failure. It seeps in through his nose, clogging his throat and making it impossible to breathe, swirling around his temples and bringing a constant ache, settling into his stomach with a weight that brings him to his knees. It loops around his arms, his fingers, holding him in its clutches until he can do nothing but succumb.
Here, in this space between light and dark, this pocket of in between realities, he succumbs. He falls, down and down and down, plummeting to a dark sea. Black and red. Blood and deep, deep water. But Link does not sink. No, he walks. That feeling, horrible and domineering, pulls him like a puppet along the raging sea.
In which the Chain meets after the events of Tears of the Kingdom and Sky is the last to join. It takes time for trust to be earned, especially with added confusion regarding the Goddess and timelines.
You know the drill.

Summary
"It was hard to make Warriors feel physically ill anymore. He had just seen too much to have anything really phase him. Or so he thought.
As he came up to the last cell, his stomach dropped at the sight.
It was Sky, indefinitely so, even though his motionless body was as far from the cell door as he could've been with the reach of the chains wrapped around his scraped-raw wrists. However, the chains would be the least of their worries. From his point of view, he couldn’t make out Sky’s face or even tell if he was any conscious. But he could hear his ragged, gasping breaths as his lungs worked in overtime, still trying to keep him alive. Warriors nearly called out for the younger of them to stay back, but realized that it was too late as he heard several breathless gasps behind him. Sky’s body stiffened even further at the sound.
(The other heroes find Sky in bad condition after facing Dark Link, he's beat up and broken, barely conscious. With Sky safely back to camp, everything should've only gotten better, right?)

Summary
Sky knew that he wasn’t going to be able to keep up with everybody else for much longer if he continued at his rate. He could feel the blisters and blood on his feet and how his legs shook with each step. But… it wasn’t like he could stop, either. Stopping would mean slowing down the whole group. It would mean burdening them.
So he kept pushing forward and somehow managed to completely tune out the pain, instead focusing on keeping his legs moving at a steady pace.-
Or,
Sky pushes his limits a bit too far.

Summary
Afterwards, Twilight had admitted to Sky that he didn’t see it happen. The goatherd and Wind had been fending off a pack of Wolfos all the way across the battlefield. They had only heard the startled cries, felt the earth rumble with Hyrule’s thunder, smelt the burning ozone in the air.
Sky hadn’t been as lucky. He had been sitting right next to Vio when it happened. The Color had been protecting him, after all.Vio is badly injured in battle.
