This was it. Ghost never thought he'd ever get married and Soap never thought he'd ever live long enough to get married, but now here they both were, buying their first house together. For the first time ever, they both get to spend their forced retirement in Scotland, just the two of them and their dog, Bowie.
And then stuff starts breaking. And they both start to feel a little stir crazy. And now they're both starting to realize that the person they married might be completely insane. But that's okay, because at least it's something to break up the quiet monotony of civilian life. Their first year living in their new house is going to be fraught with trial and error, but they'll figure it out eventually. Maybe the house will still be standing by the time they get there.

Smiles are a funny thing. If an animal greets you by a show of its teeth, you'd best back up if you don't want to chance getting bit. For any animal besides humans, smiles are a warning to pick up your arse and take it elsewhere. Which is to say that MacTavish’s smile taps a nerve that should've been bred out of humans at some early fork of evolutionary divergence.
Ghost hasn't felt the sun since climbing out of Simon Riley's grave. When he finally finds it again, it's housed in the body of the sergeant he can't have.
Cold blooded creatures can't keep each other warm. But at least they can keep each other company.

For some reason, Soap suddenly thinks about have his own little family.
He doesn't know since when, and how did that thought spring up in his mind. He just simply thought, maybe one day, he can settle down somewhere back home and raise a child or two. Give them good food, warm clothes, a roof on top of their head and a warm kiss on their forehead every night before bed.
And then he suddenly wonders if Ghost had ever thought of the same thing. Might, might not. That man's heart is stone cold and he sleeps soundly in a skull mask.
But he wants a family with that man anyways. That is quite an idea. One he would love to see it someday in the future. -
