Again, he could feel the exasperated eye roll. “We just got home a minute ago, idiot,” she huffed. But then her voice dropped as she sighed, her tone going from playful to something he couldn’t quite get a reading on, and Sokka felt his body tense.
“You were right, Sokka,” Katara continued. “Bumi just got diagnosed with Tourette’s.”

Summary
“They made a statue of her. In the square.”
“Is that so? I’m sure it’s beautiful.”
“It is.”
“What’s wrong, son?”
Sokka didn’t know how to articulate all the things wrong with a sixteen year old girl giving her life for an eternity old spirit just so the world could take the stupid circle in the night sky for granted. He couldn’t quite describe how cruel the universe was, to let put so much pressure on her, to make her life so hard, only to snatch it away from her before she could even live it.
“The world sucks, dad.”
Or, in the Northern Water Tribe, Sokka finds a statue of Yue and learns to find meaning in the brevity of their relationship

Summary
“You’ve been getting better at this,” Katara says, casually.
“I mean,” Sokka says, suddenly self-conscious. “It’s not my best work, but—”
“Sokka,” Katara cuts him off, rudely, and so he shuts up. “I love it.”
“Thanks,” Sokka chuckles.
Katara looks out the window, where the stormy weather has calmed down a little, and back at the drawing. As she traces it with a single finger, she notices a strange texture. “What did you make this with, again?” she asks.
