"He had dropped his knapsack to the floor, the burden of it thrown off his back as he regarded both Violet and Nox, but especially Nox. Violet tried her best not to let her expression shift into cold indifference, but it seemed that it was the only expression she was capable of mustering.
'Violet. Bu — Nox.' His name faltered on the human’s tongue, new and foreign as he stared into moonstone eyes.
'Chase. Hi.' Nox seemed to be just as transfixed as the human—Chase— hovered over them. Snapping out of his daze, the Human cleared his throat loudly before breaking eye contact with her little brother.
'I- I’m going to…take you guys with me? Is that okay? I know Buddy told me he had to convince you, but I’ll be careful, okay?'
'Mm.' Violet hummed, face fixed in a scowl. She still hated how Nox was still on social terms with these humans. Buddy? Who the hell was Buddy? "
