Lloyd was 12 when he saw everything go down, he's 21 now and was isolated from the others by a group of other scientists. Lloyd intends on escaping, he just doesn't know how yet.

There was no doubt in Cole’s mind that he was loved — how could he not be, when Kai let him do his hair on the days where his hands ached too much or when Lloyd fell asleep on his lap on the couch while they were watching Starferer? He knew that he loved others dearly, he could feel it. But none of that love fit into the neat, small box that his forebears had prepared for him.
The shame that he’d carried was not about being queer. Not for a long time. It was about not being able to fit himself into that box — from not being able to find the key, even, from not really knowing how to go about opening it.
His eyes met Bonzle’s, cutting through the tension in the air. “I’m aromantic and asexual. Which means that I don’t like anyone either sexually or romantically. It took me a while to figure it out, but it’s true."

When ninja are back at monastery from the blood moon ritual and…Käi’s Sacrifice- one day they are needed to get ingredients and Lloyd agrees to go but also makes Wyldfyre tag along so they can have atleast time to chat together and she’s able to move around instead of being lazy and grumpy all day. But, Wyldfyre doesn’t show very little interest in the activity or even Lloyd very much but things began to stir between the two.

Finding love. One of those things that seems almost impossible, especially when it comes to the most random times. Or the worst times ever. Like the fact he'd have to go to school everyday and see couples kissing and hugging where ever he went.
It's funnier to think that most of them are straight too, which is fine. He just can't find himself wanting to mirror those kinds of relationships. Like he'd never see himself hugging or kissing a girl in a romantic sense. To be honest he wasn't sure he wanted anything in the romantic sense.
He liked Kai for a while maybe that's how he knew. But it was kinda clear that Kai wouldn't like him back and he really didn't want their friendship to feel awkward because of that. Cole remained very confused for a long time about that, well that was until he saw another guy. Someone he hadn't seen there before. He made friends with a few others kids Cole didn't recognized.
The 2 looked much younger, the one looked to be maybe a year older or younger than the guy. And the one he spotted first seemed to be around the same exact age as him.
What were the chances he'd get to talk to the boy?
Apparently a good amount.

Cole had been staying in the Rookery for two months.
When Fritz and Spitz first found him dumped outside by the Merge, they'd rushed to get Geo. Geo had helped Cole inside, laid him down on the couch, tended to his wounds.
Geo never mentioned when Cole's blood stained the already ratty couch, or complained when Cole threw up the food he'd just been fed.
Geo took care of him, no questions asked.
