Summary
"We're fine!" Astarion calls, brushing off Shadowheart's concern. He isn't sure of his own words, but he doesn't want a third person in the mix; this way, he feels like he has some shred of control over a situation that would normally be unthinkable: Staeve and Astarion at each other's throats.
Well. In a different manner of speaking than usual, at least.
I had a thought, and that's always dangerous. This is set relatively early on in Staeve and Astarion's relationship after an ambush in the Underdark.
