Summary
Kris Bengtsson is a hapless, but positive young Norwegian-Canadian boy living an average, but miserable life in Toronto with his friends and Meilin Lee, whom he has a secret crush on.

Summary
Following the brutal SkyDome incident and the hurricane that almost tore apart Toronto, Kris has fallen into a deep coma.
Seven months later, his family (with the help of his friends) travels back to their old hometown in Norway to try and seek answers. Ming brings Mei and her family as well, hoping to make amends for her actions.
What follows next is a perilous journey through the mythical nine realms of Norse cosmology in effort to free Kris’s lost soul from Helheim before Hel, the Norse queen of death, can have her way with him while uncovering secrets to his familial roots.

Summary
Kris, Mei and their friends are now high schoolers and summer break has just begun.
While Mei and the girls leave for summer camp, Kris works a temporary summer job to earn enough money to go to Deathfest, a three-day black metal music festival in Montreal where his favorite band, Nörthfölk, will be performing live.
However, a speed bump in his plans is caused by Surtr, the fire giant and ruler of Muspelheim, who has been reawakened by Hel, seeking vengeance on the gods by recreating the apocalyptic event known as Ragnarök. Kris teams up with his friends and others, who discover that they, themselves, are also related to the Norse gods and goddesses.
