(This started as a bit of indulgent hurt/ comfort, only to become a massive story involving murder, conspiracies, execution, Stormscience, offworld travel, spren politics, and the unforseen effects of simple compassion. It also provides real consequences for certain major canonical decisions that seemed to be swept under the rug.

Summary
Kaladin mentally and physically overdoes it, ends up running extremely low on Stormlight and on the brink of collapsing.
He goes to Adolin and Shallan’s rooms for help, but can’t help his thoughts from turning dark and the wretch from taking over. A story of my fave polyamorous throuple caring for, tending to and looking after dear Kaladin when he won’t take care of himself.
(This takes place sometime after RoW, but honestly this is self indulgent whump/hurt/comfort/soft gentle fluff for my own pleasure so who cares when it happens?)

They flee to a new life but Elhokar and Dalinar never stop searching for them, leading to a violent confrontation to settle the matter once and for all.

A fight with a few Fused causes Adolin to almost fall to his death. Thankfully, Kaladin reaches him in time, but not quick enough for him to be completely unharmed. The sight of an unconscious Adolin, however, triggers Kaladin’s PTSD and Adolin wakes up to find the aftermath of what almost occurred.

Adolin gets injured. And Kaladin loses his shit over it.-
