Summary
“Yanqing, do you remember your oath?” Fu Xuan asked suddenly. Yanqing paused, although he answered.
“Of course. ‘As the clouds that cover the heavens, will the knights protect the Xianzhou’.”
“Yes. And who was the one who asked you to take this vow?”
“General Jingyuan.”
“Yes. Recall: Jingyuan was inaugurated into the Cloud Knights by Jingliu, and Jingyuan upheld that same oath and put her down. Do you understand where I’m going with this?”
Yanqing widened his eyes in that instant-- there was only one possibility to what Fu Xuan was saying, but Yanqing so desperately wanted to believe that she was joking.
But the Master Diviner never jokes, nor does she cry during what is meant to be a prank.//
