Summary
Lucien is a young boy who serves at Ildenmoor's local tavern, the Tawny Hare, where he found both a home and family at an early age. When a heroic centaur by the name of Tearlach stops by to prepare for an arduous battle against an approaching horde of goblins, Lucien doesn't think much of it. He couldn't have guessed that he would lose everything the very next day.

Lucien shouldn't have eaten that, because now he's slowing down the urgent progress they need to make to reach the next town in need of a heroic warrior's help. Fortunately, where Tearlach Lacks Empathy and isn't very willing to compromise on this inconvenient development, his nephew Gwaine has a lot more of it and wants to help his ailing fellow apprentice.
