Summary
Seven years they’d been traveling through the desert, looking for the Man in Black. The Man with Yellow Eyes. Seven years and the closest they’d come was at a waystation, where a gypsy tried to kidnap Sam, and Dean was forced to make his guns sing. They didn’t like to kill people if they didn’t have to. It was a waste of bullets. There weren’t many bullets left out here in the wastelands. And they had to save some for the real gunfight. The one their father had prepared them for their whole life. Seven years and all they had to show for it were a few more scars and Sam’s addiction to tobacco. “It’s this or the demon blood,” he’d told Dean with cold eyes. Dean learned to pick his battles.
