Ivy crouched behind large bushes. Hiding herself from the prying eyes of the humans, who roam these lands now. Her curiosity drove her to such closeness to the humans. But the desire to learn from them, was nothing but a flicker slowly fading, with each passing year. The ghosts of her past still drive her to live among the monsters, who roam freely like she has.
Purple eyes watched the different people in the large market. Seeing things from new and old lands; a twig snapped under her foot. Letting her hold in her breath, worry filled her heart as she saw someone turn. Fleeing away from the bushes, she ran from the human's home not wishing to be caught like her clan before her.
Running through thick vines and bushes. She glances over her shoulder, before smacking into something making her stumble. When she looked up, what she saw made her gasp.

The huntress was the finest the Fifth Fleet has to offer. She is the Sapphire Star, the guiding light for all hunters and a living legend in all of the New World. She was on a mission to dispatch of some troublesome elder dragons when the mission becomes more dangerous than what she seems. After a fearsome battle and brushes with death, she emerges victorious but is grievously injured. Suddenly with nothing to do while she waits for her wounds to recover, she explores the recently cleared out Elder's Recess which would then lead to a series of events that will change her life, and the life of others in another world, forever.

This is an INTENSELY self indulgent prequel for the events of Monster Hunter World following the life of the Commander. Fic takes place from the First Fleet setting out and covers things like the Celestial Pursuit ending up on a mountain, the Scoutflies, the Seeker peacing out, the Research Base crash landing, and some other stuff I'm forgetting, and ends right before the opening sequence of the game. So if you like Monster Hunter, and for some reason you're not here for the monster part (why are we here? Where is the appeal beyond big monster?), we're here together.
Ngl, I wrote this because he is 100% my OC's type, and I had brain worms until I wrote it all out. I'm freeeee! The PoV is from the Commander instead of said OC so we get to see more fun things than "oh god he's hot. Oh god I'm gay. Oh god." Instead we get stuff like "Woah cool bugs. Ha ha cute monsters! AH BIG MONSTER!" You're welcome.
Fun fact: I played the game in French, so I have ZERO HANDLE on how their dialog sounds in English. *Finger guns and skates off into the sunset*
