Summary
With a promising J-tech (Jaeger-Tech is an occupation given to officers in charge of the maintenance of the Jaeger systems and robotics) mechanic boy, who has been abandoned by almost everyone, and a young talented Jaeger pilot trainee, who is the top-of-the-crop, Earth is still at danger from Kaiju invasion. Thailand Shatterdome has been built last (compared to all the other places like Anchorage and Syndey) to allow more protection from these monsters emerging from an opening called, The Breach, in the Mariana Trench. Shatterdome houses the machines and its pilots who train there, and live there, ready to be dispatched when monsters show up.
This time two kaiju come to Earth, but instead of attacking straight away (as they would usually do), they head inland and disappear from the radar. Investigation begins by the team while Prem meets Boun under strange circumstances for the first time. Will they both end up as Jaeger pilots? How do they handle drifting together and most importantly, will they be able to stop the monsters and save Earth from invasion?
