The world overturns in War, and a young girl from the aristocracy of Old Volantis is challenged by her family's ancient connection to the Dragon Queen. This is an "unfix it" fic that explores why Theon deserved better through his thoughts and feelings and interactions before and during his death in Season 8. Interactions include: Theon & Tyrion, Theon & Maester Wolkan, Theon & Sansa, and Theon & Bran. I've kind of just... leaned into the bleakness in order to grapple with everything I hated about his death, if that makes sense. Though I still tried to find shreds of hope where I could.

He sometimes had the occasional, very vivid dream wherein he traveled to strange worlds and had bizarre adventures. This may well be one of them, if only for the irony. Given the possibility that every lucid dream is actually long-range astral projection or parallel incarnation, he had no qualms about treating this world as real. Of course, he could also be wrong. Wouldn't that be something? If nothing else, though, his new family won't take quite the same amount of work to salvage as his previous one.
