The new game with Gortash is only just starting and yet once again it feels like it's only just the two of them in the world. Too easy to get lost in him. If only things were that simple and the outside world didn't already decide the sides they both must stay on.

Astarion is taken in the dead of night by the mind flayer ship; a nautiloid, snatched from Baldur's Gate during a nightly hunt for yet another victim to bring home to his master. He first lays eyes on a suspicious pair of females after the ship is attacked by the dragon knights, smoke and fire surrounding him after being released from his pod. A female high elf and a gith running freely around the ship, that needed further investigation from his side. He tried to follow them in an attempt to learn more about this shitty situation and in hope that they could show him a path to freedom, but then he fell. They all did.

Everybody knows that when you are dealing with devils, you will always draw the short straw, yet there is never a shortage of fools willing to try their luck. Ask them why they stepped into the oldest trap known to man, and they will give you a variety of reasons, each more stupid than the other.
Agartha would say it seemed like a rational decision. She wanted to reach Baldur's Gate, and Raphael wanted her to reach Baldur's Gate. Their interests more or less aligned, and she wasn't in a position to refuse help simply because it came from a questionable source.
She would also say she was curious. Raphael was a real devil — well, a half-devil, but it still counts — and he was intelligent and charming, even if terribly annoying at times. It was so easy to believe there was more behind his friendliness than manipulation.
And finally, she would say she wasn't a fool, she knew what he was and how to deal with his kind. Everything was going to be fine as long as nobody signed any contracts or caught any feelings.
