Summary
Scarpia, head of the secret police and one of the most powerful men in Rome, is eager to hunt down his political opponents.
The young painter and revolutionary Cavaradossi particularly attracts his attention. Not only because he openly supports the French emperor Napoleon, but more so because he is the lover of celebrated opera singer Floria Tosca.
Tosca, the woman Scarpia desires like no other and whom he lusts to possess at any cost. Even if this means forcing her into his arms and bed against her will - an opportunity that presents itself to him when Cavaradossi helps an escaped convict and beautiful Tosca tries everything to save both men.Series

Summary
Their voices are too low for me to hear in the echoing church, so I watch their bodies instead: Mamma pacing, then turning to confront my father with a low hiss as he follows her at too close a distance. I can't even remember their divorce, let alone their marriage, but I can see how they once might have fit together. The way they circle each other is like dancing—not dancing like when Mario puts on a record in the living room and whirls Mamma about, both of them laughing, but more like each already can guess how the other is about to step.
Very loosely inspired by the infamous 2004 Latvian National Opera production, in which Tosca and Scarpia once were married to each other, and Scarpia clearly regrets the divorce. Only taken a step further, because this imagines that Tosca and Scarpia have a kid from their ill-advised marriage.

She had known what it was to desire and be desired. Only now did she realize that to love and be loved was something completely different.
Or, turning in the widening gyre, but the story as told from Tosca's perspective, instead of Scarpia's.
Very loosely inspired by the infamous 2004 Latvian National Opera production, in which Tosca and Scarpia once were married to each other, and Scarpia clearly regrets the divorce.

Summary
One final kiss, that was all he demanded. If she would never again give herself to him, fully and wholeheartedly, he would still possess her however he could. He would make her sing for him, at long last. And he would make her scream his name, as she never had when they were lovers. The ancient stones of the Eternal City still remembered how easily passion could slide into suffering.
Very loosely inspired by the infamous 2004 Latvian National Opera production, in which Tosca and Scarpia once were married to each other, and Scarpia clearly regrets the divorce.

Summary
