"Dan, I'm curious about something."
Curiosity from the likes of Herbert West was pretty frequently a cause for concern. All of his schemes started with curiosity, usually progressed to experimentation, and any that got that far always ended in chaos.
Even knowing all that, Dan usually couldn't help but, at the very least, listen to the thought. It wasn't any different then, with the pair sleepily curled up together in their bed –it used to be just Dan's, but not anymore. If anything, their current situation made him happier to listen.
"Shoot."
"When we've had sex, it has only been through vaginal penetration or non penetrative methods." Herbert peeked up at Dan, squinting to see better without his glasses. "Why? You've shown me your strap-on and I've told you that I have experience bottoming."
The question made his cheeks flush a bit and he sighed.
It was a kinda complicated answer.

In a one-sided obsession with the man he chooses not to love, Herbert west finds himself concealing secrets, his emotions, and his work. He battles with being misinterpreted and villainised by Dan. His mind struggles to keep up with his heart as Dan, after all this time together, reiterates moving out and leaving Herbert forever.
