Summary
Narinder is used to the Lamb and their strange quirks. He is used to watching the Lamb do chores, gamble away their money in Knucklebones, fish, and other inane activities. Even being unable to read the Lamb's mind, The One Who Waits is confident that he knows the Lamb.
Until he realizes he doesn't.
In which the Lamb trusts Narinder (for whatever reason), the Crown apparently is a matchmaker, and Narinder enjoys being as contrary as possible, including acknowledging his feelings.

Summary
The prophecy has been fulfilled; the Bishops of the Old Faith have been defeated, the One Who Waits was liberated, and the Lamb, Castor, has claimed their role as the sole surviving crown-bearer. Elated at this victory, their cult wishes to explore the Lands of the Old Faith in the absence of the oppressive Bishops. Castor is determined to grant this wish, if only to appease a century of misguided remorse. When a curse torments the island and an entity warns them of unfinished obligations, they are forced to take arms and crusade once more.
These expeditions were simple when they pursued their goals alone, but now, with the company of a previous and unsatisfied God of Death, and the emergence of a 'parallel’ crown-bearer, crusading was anything but easy. The usurped deity and unknown god could be the answers Castor prayed for – or the downfall of this new, fragile world.

Narinder raised a brow at them, but listened. “It’s the only guarantee we have,” they continued, “and I think-” Lambert turned their eyes up to him for a moment before looking away, “I think that’s beautiful.”

“Better than us?’ Leshy leaned forward, “his kin, his family? What deal could you barter with him that he won’t beat you at?” The bagworm scoffed and kicked his feet up to lay down. “Betrayer of the betrayer, I look forward to seeing the next bout between the two of you- what, are you two some two headed snake consuming itself? I’ll make sure to place a bet before the end of it.”

Many years ago it was prophesied that a lamb would kill the four bishops of the Old Faith and free The One Who Waits
So the bishops ordered their followers to hunt down and kill every single lamb to prevent this
Till all but one remained, the last of her kind
Just as she was to be killed she is in front of The One Who Waits, who bestows upon her the Red Crown to make a cult in his name and fulfil the prophecy
And this is where our story begins, a lamb once for slaughter becomes the butcher
