For a moment, Icarus’s hope disappears. For a moment, they forget that Rae has already figured half of it out, they forget that they all have experience with memories returning. For a moment, they think they’re cursed again, doomed to forever wander as a stranger in a familiar land, even more a ghost than they were before. But then—
“Icarus?” Centross asks, and apparently, that’s enough, because Icarus bursts into tears.
Or: Icarus comes home.
