Did you know that the snow is a muffler. It’s like a beautiful blanket that covers everything but no sound can get through. No nothing, not even the sound of footsteps as you walk, or the sound hushed whispering, and definitely not the sound of a bow creaking as it’s being shot.

Summary
Tommy had lost all faith in those who call themselves ‘heroes’.
It was their fault that he was in this situation, that he couldn't see his parents anymore. He was in this dumb system because they were to busy getting high of their kites to care about him. Tommy knew it was their fault, he had heard it on the radio on the way to the orphanage.
‘Pro heroes fail to save a family of three, word has got out that the pros were intoxicated by illegal substances, and have since been suspended for their actions by their signed companies. There will be an investigation into the murder Miranda and Gale Simons, while their son, Theseus Simons will be taken in for questioning.’
Tommy couldn't feel the warmth that filled his chest when his parents were around, he couldn't hear the stories they told him while he went to sleep. He couldn't see them anymore because of people like heroes. And now he was surrounded by people who couldn't help but pity him, and he hated it. He didn't need these people's pity, he didn't need their stares when he walked past.
