Summary
2185 – After two years in exile, turian combat specialist, Valni Severan, returns to the Citadel… only to find herself accused of treason. To avoid a death sentence and help clear her name, she embarks on a series of daring rescue missions to free innocent people taken as slaves.
But she soon realises these abductions are just the tip of a larger conspiracy; a conspiracy that leads her into contact with the human who was once her lover… Kenneth Donnelly – an engineer working for the known terrorist group, Cerberus.

Summary
2186 – Valni and Kenneth are trying to make their relationship work, but the trauma of past events is taking its toll on Kenneth. Valni, too, is struggling in her new job, not least when she has to arrest Kenneth’s boss, Commander Shepard. To make matters worse she discovers her late father may have been murdered; a sadistic merc is trying to kill her; a deadly enemy is after a mysterious Geth device… And there’s the small matter of a Reaper invasion.
The battle to save the galaxy takes Valni from Earth’s moon, to the pastures of Palaven; from the barren wastes of Tuchanka, to the towering cities of Thessia, and ultimately leads to a confrontation that may cost her everything.
As her father once said: “There is no victory without sacrifice.”
