Summary
Jack is used to weird things happening at the shitty gas station at the edge of town, but things are steadily getting weirder. It’s not just the werewolves digging in the dumpster. There are signs— omens that something is coming. But he isn’t prepared when that something is an orphaned little girl with psychic premonition.
Lily Madwhip can see the future, but she can't see what she's going to do without her family. She’s gone so far for the angels and “the good of mankind”, but she doesn’t know how much farther she can go. When she ends up in an orphanage in the backwoods of Louisiana, Lily begins a long and arduous journey to save the world, finding out that family never has one singular definition.Faith will be tested. Friends will become enemies. Enemies will become friends. Angels will weep and the world will be plunged into a new age of perpetual agony and suffering. Only two things are really certain, Jack is getting really tired of monsters and deities, and Lily is done being forced to solve the angels' problems.
Note: This piece begins shortly after I’m Lily Madwhip and You Can Keep This by William Dalphin, and Tales From the Gas Station: Bedside Manor by Jack Townsend.
