Everything was ringing. It felt as if my head was caving in. I opened my eyes, but can’t focus on a thing. My vision is blurred with tears and spinning with dizziness. I looked up to see an undistinguishable figure kneel down in front of me. The figure placed their palm on my forehead and whispered. Instantly, I felt myself slam into the brick wall behind me. It felt like a spear had been driven directly through my chest. Everything burned, and I could feel the blood as it dripped from my skull. I dropped to my hands and knees, screaming in agony. What’s happening to me? I continued to scream at the top of my lungs, pain writhing in my voice. How is this possible. I’ve never felt this kind of pain before. Then it all stopped, all at once. My body went limp as I fell on my left arm. A firm kick to the stomach, but not as bad as before. My vision started to clear and my hearing returned slightly.

Eliza glares at Grisha as he drags in another kill from the forest. A young deer fawn, its twisted body reminds her of what will happen if she says the wrong thing, makes the wrong move. Bringing her hands around herself, she doesn't know how much longer she can do this. The man-beast, while placated by animals, will only be truly satisfied by her blood. Or her body.
Cai takes in a frustrated breath as he slides his pen over the stained papers before him. Leave passes, requests for more socks, all useless busy work designed to keep him in stuck in his tent and away from the rest of the investigation. Away from her. Taking in a deep breath, he continues his frantic scribbling. After all, he promised Master Corporal Lhanda that he'll play nice and not run off on his own, at least for now.
Max lets out a groan as she stares at mirror before her. Eyes, once dark, now swirl with strange, almost alien, gold. By God, why is her body doing this shit! And so close to the Hunting Festival too? Letting out another groan, she slaps on a pair of sunglasses. After all, she can take care of her body later, what matters now is becoming a better shot, and becoming a better shot fast.
