Summary
Life hasn't been what she expected, then again Clarke's life has never been hers. The life of the Maiden is one of near complete isolation. Her duty is to her Kingdom, and everything relies on her ability to be found worthy of gods who have set impossible standards. A duty that, for everyday she spends with her new guard, she is surer than ever she doesn't want.
He has spent a lifetime of agony regretting the choices he has made but now is his chance to right the wrongs and turn the tides in his favor. Two duties. One to her Kingdom, one to his own, and what should've been a simple plan, years in the making, falls apart after one night with her.
