Summary
The steady rhythm of dripping water echoed through the empty tunnel—every fifth second a plink on the decrepit tiles of the train platform, keeping a sort of unhelpful and unwanted count of time passed. The air was musty and stale, too still from too little to circulate it; no trains pulling in and out, no people to inhale and exhale. There was just the ghost, and he didn’t have much use for air, anyway.
